Paradisus is very nice imo very expensive for an inclusive but where it's located i believe it's prolly the only hotel right?? :hmmm
The El San Juan is a Great hotel it's THE hotel to stay @!...Im also a great fan of any Ritz Carlton i stayed there it was very very nice...and the Intercontinental always has great rates for a 4 *
John, San Juan is so Americanized -u will know where the night clubs are-some in Old San Juan and some @ hotels... but any bell man or conceirge would be able 2 tell u... Better beaches are in Isla Verde so where ur stayin is :WINK

Any additions to this thread?
I've also decided I'll be going here May 9 through May 13. I'm torn between the Ritz, Westin Rio Mar , and I've heard terrible reviews about Paradisus but it looks so gorgeous, and finally the Intercontinental.
Need some serious help.

El Yunque Rain Forest!!!
And the best time I had in San Juan was last June when we rented ATV's and drove them through the rainforest.. I am not sure if that's your kinda activity but I decided to do it not expecting to love it and it turned out to be my favorite part of an 11 day vacation in the Caribbean :heart

I loved it... what a thrill. I don't think this is the company we went through but here's an idea:
http://tourcoop.net/tours/atv.asp
All Terrain Vehicle (ATV) Adventure
Get ready for the ultimate adventure…where you will encounter a unique experience with in the foothills of El Yunque in a guided tour of our rainforest.
In the heart of Puerto Rico, just 45 minutes from San Juan, Four Track Adventures offers a one hour and half exhilarating ride that start at the Hacienda. The ride takes the gests through the foothills of the Rainforest and exposes the riders to the spectacular scenery of Puerto Rico’s east coast. Just think of the excitement…roaming through towering trees, treading through creeks and driving through vast rainforest terrain on your own 2-up passenger design Bombardier four track (ATV).
Upon arrival riders will be given a ten minute introduction and safety instruction on how to ride and operate a four track (ATV). All riders will wear closed shoes, a DOT approved helmet and goggles assuring a safe ride. Then the real adventure begins as riders follow our experienced guides along trials designed for these ATV’s. The tracks are carefully laid out for your safety. The riders will enjoy different terrains that will take them along panoramic views of the ocean and the forest while enjoying the experience of splashing through creek water, learning about our rainforest tales and much, much more. Individual riders will be driving controlled speed four tracks emphasizing their rider and passenger capabilities. So, whether you are experienced rider or a first time rider, you can be sure of an exhilarating and adventurous ride!
Within the tour, gests may stop and immerse themselves in the magic of the rainforest. Our guides are knowledgeable and will point out the sights and highlights of the panoramic views our mountain tops where riders can enjoy miles of Ocean and Rainforest views with unforgettable picture spots.
To give guests the best ride possible our tours are escorted by two highly experienced guides.

a safari sounds cool... i know some people that did one for a wedding anniversary....
you have to really plan it, and make sure you have a good guide with you. a lot of places have packages... just have to find one that suits what you want.
