abs are 90% if not ALL diet!!! my stomach is my problem area, that is where I put allll of my weight... no carbs after 4pm has been really the only thing that worked for me, then for dinner I just eat meat and veggies and maybe a spoonfull of brown rice just to keep me feeling like I ate... keep your complex sugar intake low aswell as your sodium... they cause bloating

i want to get that next. i tried the turkey and bacon wrap. its okie. they claim it has 40+ g protein, but i dont see that. they put like 5 slices of turkey on it.


i love the lean joe. ill be there tomorrow! :yipee

yea that is usually when I get home from class, and eat my 2nd lunch, then I eat my dinner around 7 pm

I get home from work around 5, have dinner & a snack (usually an apple) and then get home from class around 930, and let me tell u it is absolute torture.. lol. B/c I am starving at that time. But I don't eat ANYTHING after 6. The most I will do is grab a quick snack @school and that's it.

when you guys say "no carbs after 4:00pm", does that mean at 3:30 you can overload on them and have no guilt?

no waaaay lol

I barely eat carbs at all to be honest, I've slowly phased them out.. except on the weekends I'll have a cheat meal or two (pasta usually) but for the most part, I don't eat them at all - the most I allow myself to eat them is every OTHER day, once a day.. and for me carbs means a tiny portion of brown rice, couscous, or whole wheat pasta, or a small pita bread (whole wheat of course).

The only time I am not strict about carbs is breakfast, I have a whole wheat english muffin almost every morning w PB or light cream cheese if I have no time to make eggs. Although this week I have been eating only half of the english muffin b/c I cheated so much last weekend. lmao

breakfast is a bowl of Go Lean with a banana and protein shake

breakfast #2 is a cup of cottage cheese with 2 slices of whole wheat bread with flax and peanut butter

lunch is chicken and green veggies (no starch here)

lunch #2 is fruit and protein

dinner is protein and small portion of carbs

and then protein shake with small carbs

I can only make it to the gym 3X a week and I am afraid that I worked so hard to lose 20 lbs, don't wanna eat bad and gain it all back, so I figure better to be safe than sorry, and cheat only when it's worth it (going out to dinner on weekends or my BF'smom's pasta on Sundays, loll).

some nuts and fruit in between

small chicken wrap in whole wheat wrap again

pre workout some decent protein and small carbs

post workout simple carbs with whey protein

dinner fish and brown rice veggies

and before bed the infamous protein shake with a touch of milk to boost the l tryptophan and make me fall out like i was a dead person.

im lactose intolerant, so even when i drink lactaid soemtimes it messes my stomach up, if i was to drink straight skim milk in the shake......oh boy... its on. my poor girl and dog is in for a ruthless night.

i find the lean joe to be a bit sloppy and messy to eat... but very yummy... the tex mex stayed together.... a little too much rice for my liking... :) but still deeeelish!

im not sure which one i had, but it had beans and chicken i think over a bed of rice, all wrapped up. it was PHENOMENAL

no it means, my last carb of the day is at that time, such as the bread of my sandwich, etc.

My mom made rice today :yousuck & my lil cousin is cutting into my Abs on Demand time by watching I Spy on my TV right now.. so I don't think I'm going to make much abs progress tonight, lol. :shrugger

Honestly if you want shredded abs you have to be so meticulous about what you consume. It's all about diet. Any nono you eat will show up on your abs like a scarlet letter A.

No alcohol whatsoever (I've posted before that it is #1 when trying to shrink wrap and I stand by that) Water only! Watch your sodium intake.
Eat small portions consisting of fiber, protein, and fat in every meal.
Every second that it pops into your head, tighten your abs and hold. It's like a memory boost for the muscle.
I found that CLA worked awesome for me. I also drank dandelion root tea.

Yep it is a diuretic :agree and when I'm in a crunch (going away) I'll take dandelion root pills for a a few days prior.
I do eat carbs but I make sure they are high in fiber. So I eat whole wheat pitas, kashi go lean cereal, multigrain crackers, brown rice, oatmeal (always in small amts). But no white flour whatsoever and no pasta :) I also avoid red meat.
You & I prob have similar diets and if you are who I think you are (think I saw the tattoo at Mandalay pool) we have similar body types lol
For me iI just have a hard time getting that shredded look on my stomach because of self-discipline but otherwise the gut is pretty flat.

yes... but meant the 2 main components to having your abs show.... ;)

of course you gotta work them... but you can work them every day of the week, if you drink beer and eat pizza everday, you probably won't see them.... unless you're a genetic freak.... or on some juice.... lol
