Referring to making salads. It always takes me too long to make a salad, and today when you re on the go every min counts. To wash and then peel and then cut cucumbers, horse radish, celery, green leaves, tomatoes and so on takes too long.

So I figured I d cut up the veggies and put them in closed containers. All you have to do is take them out put them in a bowl and toss. So much easier for me, so I thought I d share lol

Why wouldn't you just make salads in the individual containers all in one shot and throw them in the fridge? Then you can just take it out of the fridge in the morning and go :hmmm

Well because I like to make different salads sometimes, containing different ingredients. So I want that choice lol

I LOVE salads :heart . ....*tossing salad* is one of my fave things :la

lol parum-ching :band

but seriously ...

the bad part about pre-cutting things is that if u dont use them the same day ..they get *strange*

I dunno about you guys but I LOVE crispy,. fresh salads ! :agree

Im ALL about saving time and pre-cutting stuff ..but when it comes to salads ..like I said ..I could onely do it if it was for use the same day or overnight ..anything past that, then, I wouldnt wanna eat it. :barfy

I agree with Victorious .Im ALLLLLLLLL about those pre-washed bags. They're a great *base* for any salad ..and just toss in whatever added things you want like tomatoes or cucumbers etc as well as any other yummy additives like hummus, feta cheese, turkey, stuffed grape leaves etc :aroused

Dammit ..I want a salad now ! :tantrum

~H

Also, Denise ...aside form just b u's reasons for notr wanting to mix .....when you pre-make an actual SALAD...it tends to get soft and things wilt quicker because lots of the veggies release water. So, it's best to keep them separated in diff containers ..they'll at least stay crisper and fresher a lil longer. :)

nono,

i seen tons of different types with all different kinds of greens,

i mean its a good base to start with, then add your own veggies probably save you time..

but i think DK said it best probable best to just prepare in advance.
