So, now that the supreme court is back in session one of the things being discussed is wheather or not Lethal Injection is constitutional.. Because when they give lethal injection they feel that they could be in pain but are unable to show any signs of it because of the first part that paralyzes them.. so they are trying to decide if lethal injection is constitutional..
im sorry why the fuck do we care if a convicted criminal is going to suffer pain when serving their sentence??? why do they have MORE right then the victims of the crimes they committed to not have pain when they die??? does anyone else feel this way?? i really dont get how on earth we put them before the people they have hurt / killed / raped etc etc...

Benny, rather than supporting this walking zombie, you should think about running, you are much more in tune with whats going on than Fred is .... Good post by the way! always a good debate on captial punishment. :)
* Tennessee, Thompson’s alleged home state, is in the midst of a major controversy over executions by way of lethal injection. A federal judge ruled the procedures unconstitutional last week, which was big news in the state. Asked for his opinion on the developments on Friday, Thompson responded, “I hadn’t heard that. I didn’t know.”

If hardcore rightwing conservatives had it their way our country would have:
executions of criminals on street corners on their first offense by hanging, a 200 ft wall all the way around our entire country, war with every country that refuses to adopt our way of thinking and serve our interests..... gays, muslims, and nondocumented people will be shipped off to Darfur.......abortion would become illegal and the poor would get zero assistance.... we would have a police state that spys on us and watches our every move....
i can go on and on....
sounds like club med huh? lol

Well I'm all for the death penalty, all though I'd shorten the appeals process. Honestly, I'm pro-Hammurabi's code, and eye for an eye...........the rest of that shit is psychotic. This administration is beyond words......

2. maybe not a 200ft wall but something to control our "illegal immigration problem"
3. you forgot to add democrats to that list..of who to send to Darfur lol
4. abortion shoud be illegal with the exceptions of *rape / incest / or the mother is at health risk*
5 why the fuck do the poor deserve assitance??? the rich dont get assistance so why should the poor
6 do you really have that much to hide... the only thing "private " in todays world iis basically the converstaions you have in your own home.. everything else is basically public information..

you do realize the immigration is a Republican caused problem, if we were to put up a fence who would work at Walmart or for the rest of big corps those cutting into their profit margin and dropping people's portfolio's, they don't want this issue fixed and it's submarines wage in American and the quality of life for the average american, it's pathetic.
there are definitely some democrats that could goto dafur.....
Why should abortion be illegal? Abortion reduces crime, pick up freakonomics....
The poor deservere assistance because everyone deserves opportunity, just because your parents are fuckups, or had no ambition doesn't mean you should be locked into a life of minimium wages and children having children
you I have shit to hide, do you really want people to see me banging your mother on youtube? sorry, but you get my picture. And invasion of privacy is only the first step in future steps of complete control..........ie a tom cruise movie....

i wont argue the fact of the illegals.. and no its not just the republicans.. its also the dems.. the repubs want the cheap work. the dems want the votes.. why you think a majority of dems will not sign an act to force voters to show picture id when voting.. "yet have to show id for cigarettes and beer" if we actually did something about the illegal immigration problem to answer your question about who would work.. i would force every person off welfare and make them earn their money.. i heard about some lady who had 4 kids or some shit.. got job at wallmart and came off wellfare.. she ended up going back on wellfare saying that she can get more money by sitting on her ass and collecting a check instead of going to work... you tell me where the problem is..
my stance on abortion is just because we can do it doesnt make it right... i feel its only acceptable if and only if its under circumstances of rape / incest / mothers health is at risk etc... in todays world there is toooo many ways to 1. prevent preganancy, as well as alot of options of what you could do with teh baby i.e. adoption etc.. just remember... YOU MOTHER WAS PRO LIFE
as for the dems to go to darfur dont worry there is a bunch of repubs that should go too ..lol Bush be on the first trip
as for the poor.. yes. but you must realize the fact is .. these people are the ones who make their choices.. if they have kids whos fault is that.. theirs.. if they dont do what it takes to better themselves from the situation they were born into they dont deserve shit.. going to school you learn the fundamentals of life. and one of the biggest lessions i learned was in 5th grade i think.. i got a question wrong in class and then my friend answered it right.. the teacher went and said that he can see it now in 15 / 20 years ill be on the street corner holding cup asking for moeny while my friend who go the question right would be pulling up in his new sports car... funny part is.. today im very well off.. and the kid who got the question right.. died of an overdose about 8 years ago... go figure...
regardless anyone with the will and deterimination can change who hey are and what they wanna be.. nobody needs the government to help them change who or what they are..

the last part sounds like someone who had at least grew up in a semi-safe area with opportunity, can you really even try and rationalize that for children growing up in the ghetto? with bad teachers, bad influences etc.......???? Ok so you want to cut back public assistance, how about being for more social programs to help the innocent children that are trying to achieve? Coming home with no food on the table must suck...........
My mom was pro-life? Since she took birth control the first 2 years she was married, and then stopped because she chose to have children, I think that makes her PRO CHOICE.
Make sure that the next stop after Dafur is East Timor, they all need the education.
Agreed immigration does need to be addressed by both parties, because the latins are coming, the latins are coming, but seriously we need some politician, regardless of the party to not be influenced by portfolio or popularity, to make a fucking stand and address the issue for the current everyday americans!!!!!

honestly. no i have never been even remotely close to being in that kind of situation. i know from me growing up how i have been able to succeed in life or fail in life.. and i know that everything i have achieved or lost in life is a direct result in the decision that I made. Nobody eles. therefor i make my statement and opinion based upon my life experiences that if i wanted to something or wanted to get somewhere in life i had to do it and get myself there.. nobody is gonna help you get to your hopes and dreams.
as for your mom.. wrong. she was taking birth control because she was educated.. and did the RIGHT thing.. she then decided to have children.. so she came of birth control and was PRO LIFE the decision of being pro life or choice isnt an arguement of when to have them. its either to have the baby or not to have the baby.. she was pro life because she wanted to have the baby..
as much as hes a nut job tom tancredo would be great for the illigal immigration.. its just a shame he has ABSOLUTE zero substance behind him..

I think if you've decided to allow the death penalty, and you've sentenced someone to die, you should kill them in a relatively quick/effective way not necessarily a "painless" way. I think it's wrong to go out of your way to torture or delay their death, but to worry over what they may suffer by injection is ridiculous. That's like saying you can't hang/shoot them b/c of the worry they have to endure prior. You're being punished, you're going to die, it's not supposed to be pleasant .
The only reason I have any qualms about this is I put myself in the shoes of the people and their families who have been wrongly convicted and executed. I can't imagine what it's like to die for, or have a fam member die for a crime they didn't commit. I won't cry for murderers, some people most def deserve to die, but when you start doing that you 100% know you're killing some innocent ones too.

The points you made about "pro life" totally contradict each other and make no sense.
The term "pro life" means you're anti abortion, against the choice, as an option, entirely on principle legally/morally. It has nothing to do w/ whether a woman CHOOSES to get pregnant initially or not by taking or not taking birth control. It's about your stance on ABORTION and its legality. the sanctity of life. His mom choosing to have him doesn't make her a pro lifer, she'd have to be anti abortion for that. Just b/c she chose to get pregnant and have a kid doesn't mean she's opposed to abortion as a practice or legal option.
pro-life: ( ) adj. Advocating full legal protection of human embryos or fetuses, especially by opposing legalized abortion.

i agree and disagree shae... If you have been tried in a trial by your peers and found guilty of a crime, inocent or not the fact remains you were found guilty.. guilty is guilty they arent innocent.. they are only innocent if they are found to be.. we have to have "faith" in our legal system that it works the right way and the right thing is being done.. what i disagree with even moreso on this issue is the amount of time it takes for them to actually carry out the sentence..
down here in tn. there was a guy who was an ADMITTED, CONVICTED, murder. He raped, beat, and murdered a 21 year old girl. He ADMITTED To the crime. He spent 25 plus years in our system waiting for the sentence to be carried out. THEN two night before the execution they then decide to try and stop the execution because now all of a sudden hes changing his story. The Governor then gave the guy a stay or execution so he could try to "prove" his case again. This guy took the life of a innocent girl and was able to spend MORE of HIS life in jail then the girl who he killed even got to LIVE period..

not everyone has been put in that situation.. the fact of being pro life / choice you dont have to have it happen to be one.. if you "were in the situation and you know your decision would be ABORTION would that not make you pro choice even tho you havent had an abortion??

i agree we can't safeguard against innocent people being convicted, but the thing is, if you incarcerate someone they can be released if found innocent later. if you execute them, it's final. think of all the people that have been vindicated by dna evidence, it's bone-chilling how many people have spent so many years locked up for god knows what purposes. it's admirable how you believe you're in complete control of your life and destiny but SHIT does happen to good people, out of their hands, unexpected. we do have to have a system, and people will fall through the cracks as well as be wrongly accused, but death is so final.

I wouldn't ever dispute a death sentence for someone w/ a solid confession. I realize sometimes confessions are coerced, but unless somebody is certifiably insane, fry em if they confess. I don't want to pay for them to live out their years in prison a confessed killer.

but what if you don't want an abortion everytime? like a couple that gets pregnanent at 16 then 10 years later has kids? What about a man can he be pro-choice? If there was a vote, and you voted pro-choice, would that make you pro choice even if you've never had an abortion?

and at same time with the DNA.. the real question is.. "DOES IT REALLY PROVE THEY DID OR DID NOT Commit the crime" then the conviction is based upon circumstantial (sp) evidence.. just because the DNA doesnt show the person was or was not there does NOT mean they werent.

my view is that no matter what i would never have an abortion its my personal choice and my view. I dont think abortion is right, like i said there is ways to PREVENT pregnancy.. if you get pregnant.. you should carry the baby and if you dont want it.. then give the baby up. there are PLEANTY of families that cant have children that would adopt the child in a heartbeat.

I agree that bc isn't remotely close to abortion, but I don't agree that "life" as we know it begins at conception. To define "life" is definitely difficult and everyone has a diff perspective.
Pro choice people however tend to agree w/ you that life starts when sperm meets egg but they go on to believe that the option to abort should not exist. It's their right to think so, but I completely disagree. My mother got pregnant w/ me while on the pill, i was totally unplanned, but she's not pro life and neither am i. She chose to keep the baby, but doesn't presume to decide for every other woman what's right. :shrugger

which way are you going with that, are you trying to say life starts when the baby's coming out of the mother's vagina or when you unzipper some guys pants? Swallowing pro-choice?

LOL
I tend to believe "life" as I define it, begins when the fetus has a formed, active brain, not when it's merely a fertilized egg. My views are more attributed to brain development, not just embryonic goo. I'm not saying a fertilized egg isn't alive or should be taken lightly, but we freeze them, dispose of them, manipulate them, b/c they aren't unique, living individuals yet. A first trimester abortion is not causing a "baby" suffering, and that life could not sustain outside the mother by far.
