Appetizer, Dessert or both?

My boyfriend and I were discussing this over dinner Monday night.

Do you usually get an appetizer or dessert with your entre?

Or do you do both? :evil

On top of that, do you usually share appetizers, or to each their own :noshare

A normal dinner I think when you go out would be all three, apps or salad/soup, then entree and then dessert. I actually like more than that...........:shuffle But its also fun to order a few different apps and share because its great to try multiple things.

yeah, going out for tapas or dim sum with a group of peeps (4 min) is awesome, cuase you get to eat a shitload of dishes without feeling like a fat kid in a bakery

If I am with the family, we do apps but with the boyfriend, we just get meals.
I get fun after dinner drinks for dessert like limoncello or buca on the rocks.

I'll fucking shank some body that trys to touch one of my plates. The only restaurant i actually dont get both, and actually dont get either is Iberia in Newark, the rodizio & fruit le mer plates are more then enough.

i balance it. if i'm eating heavy i like to get a lighter desert, or if i'm craving something rich and intense for dessert, i'll take it easy when i'm ordering my app and main course... so i don't feel like a slob afterwards.
