I had vlo at $55.00 but sold it to purchase Yahoo because of Microsoft/yahoo merger. It's a good stock, should be near $100 sometime next year.

AMTD is ok, also had that stock since I worked for TDWaterhouse/Ameritrade for 8 years. I left the company in June after the merger migration. It will go up slowly, but don't expect any merger or buy outs from this company in the next 4 years, the earliest 5-6 years they might merge or buy out E-trade or Schwab.

95% AAPL (Apple) Purchased 7 months ago and keep buying
3% SWKS (Sky works) make parts for Iphone Purchased 3 months ago
2% XMCP (Xiom Corperation) Michelangelo sold me on the stock. Purchased 3 months ago

100% Trowe Price Emerging Markets - Purchased 3 years ago.

When did you get in on ATT? thats a good purchase if you got it 3 months ago or longer.

ages ago...in wall street speak...its maybe a week after they announced they were going to be the sole carrier in the us market of the iphone...

you only pay for the phone once...good for apple....but you keep paying your monthly access fees forever...or for at least 2 yrs....the term of your contract...great for ma bell

i picked up AMTD last jan right before they gave out a 6.00 per share dividend, sold it..picked it up at 15 and change and its up to 19 and change now...debating where to go with it now...

I wanted to buy that back then... instead I purchased Janus Overseas Fund (JAOSX) at about $34, but I got rid of it after a while to buy some stocks. Big mistake. I currently have no mutual funds and I'm too lazy to look for another good one. I liked William Blair International Growth Fund (WBIGX) but not sure how that has been doing over the last year. Maybe I'll start looking into a few of these again sometime.

I have been watching this mutual fund for the last couple of days...if anyone is interested and looking for a nice International Fund...it has been up 15% in the last month or so since I have been watching it...

Matthews International Funds China Fund (MCHFX)

thats an excellent fund. its crushing the MCSI EAFE performance wise, plus it has pretty low volatility compared to its index. you really cant go wrong with China funds/securities right now, thats where my money is. Im not wasting time on US securities unless its a good growth stock.
