take a ton of practice tests

do at least 2 tests a day...and after you finish a test go back and look at the questions you got wrong

I had the program disc so I did them on my computer...and when you get one wrong they give you an explanation for the right answer and why the one you selected is incorrect.....

I copy and pasted that info and put it all on word documents then printed them out...those became my study sheets

also know your options....once you know em you know em

good luck

1. make notes next to the paragraphs you are reading as you go through each chapter

2. throughly outline options and municipal bond sections (either one will comrpise the bulk of questions in your exam). options can be tricky make sure you fully understand the concepts, this was the bulk of questions on my test and i blew thru the 7 cause i understood options in and out.

3. try and put as many terms and definitions from the back of the study guide on flash cards

***4. KEEP DOING THOSE INTERACTIVE TESTS. FOR EACH QUESTION EXAMINE WHY EACH ANSWER YOU GOT WAS RIGHT AND READ THE EXPLANATIONS FOR THE WRONG CHOICES & VICE VERSA

yea my boy just jumped ship on mortgages, and is taking his 7 in two wks. He's stressing since he only started at this new job last wk, and its contingent on him passing the exam to get hired. Good luck....sounds like you guys are coverin a shitload of material.

he has 2 weeks to study????

you need at least a month...its too much

the test is long, its definitely mentally challenging...you spend 7 hours in that room taking it

oh and fyi a 70 is an A.....if you get in the 90's on your series 7 you should be angry...cuz you studied too damn much lol

thats not wise of the company....if he fails they have to wait a full month for him to take it again

rather an employee take an extra 2 weeks and do it right the first time

are they sponsoring him to take it?

it is alot of material to cover and alot of concepts to master for 2 weeks he better lock himself in his house and study non stop 24 hours a day lol

it took me 1 hr and 1/2 to finish the 7 and i scored pretty well. i studied habitually for a month & 1/2 i believe. the 65 on the other hand took me exactly 3 hours to complete (the length of the test) and only had about 1/20th of the amt of info to study than the 7. that test was a pisser i think i got a 71, barely passed, then again i think i only studied a couple days, nonetheless i found the questions more mentally challenging than the 7

7 is not tough, just dedication, within 5 weeks you should be able to read the book and take each practice exam atleast 2 x. The more tests you take the better your score will be.

I took the 66 instead of the 63, i would recommend this. The 66 is combined state law and ria (63 and 65). Test is a bit longer, but shouldnt take you more than 2 weeks to pass it.

I thought the 55 was the most difficult out of all licensing exams I have taken, I am not a market maker and the scenario's are very vague and general, tough to distinguish who is the buyer and seller. Still passed it on first try but it was the only exam I thought I didnt do well on.

3 was simple.

good luck on the exam, if you need any pointers or have any q's, shoot!

Know your muni's and options inside out!

It's impossible to finish the 7 in 1.5 hrs. A 30 minute break in between sections is mandatory.

i studied 9 weeks and passed the 7. That was the time table we had at morgan stanley.

then the 66 i took the practice tests and studied for 4 days and passed.

i know some people who failed the 66.

Most people in the business say they could never pass the test again unless they studied bigtime for it.

I took a class. They have an amazing practice test program online and you go to a class twice a week for 2hrs for 4or 5 weeks. www.greico.com 1-800-greico-1. Passed my first time.

I have been reading the book and making an outline on my own as I read...its very time consuming, but I retain so much more. I have about 5 weeks left and I am going to start with the practice tests within a week or 2....then it's going to be test after test until the actual test.

I failed the 7 first time I took it with a 68, then failed the 66 a week later with a 67

both times really pissed me off cuz I was so close

then took them again and got high 70's

I really find it weird they want you to be registered by the end of november....you figure it would be the end of the year.....the business really slows down to a hault after Thanksgiving, then its done with after december 15th till the new year
