Didn't say they aren't close but u said McCain is leading now, which is not true.
The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Wednesday shows Barack Obama attracting 45% of the vote while and John McCain earns 43%. When "leaners" are included, it’s Obama 47% and McCain 46%. With leaners, the candidates have been within one point of each other for six straight days (see recent daily results). Tracking Polls are released at 9:30 a.m. Eastern Time each day.

John McCain is now trusted more than Barack Obama on nine out of 14 electoral issues tracked by Rasmussen Reports. The latest national telephone surveys find that McCain has the biggest advantage on the war in Iraq, by a 51% to 39% margin.
Perhaps the most interesting finding of these polls is that McCain has expanded his leads on nearly every issue he had previously had the advantage on, while Obama’s leads have diminished over the past two weeks.
The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll shows the race for the White House is very close. The results are consistent with results from the past couple of weeks showing a race that is essentially even as the convention season approaches (see recent daily results).
In the new survey, McCain has tripled his lead on the topic of immigration. He now has a 45% to 36% advantage over his Democratic opponent, up from a three-point lead two weeks ago.
The Republican also has pulled ahead on the issue of balancing the federal budget. Two weeks ago, the candidates were tied on this issue at 40%. McCain now has a 43% to 40% lead on the issue among voters.
McCain used to be behind on the issue of Social Security but has pulled ahead of Obama for a 44% to 38% lead.
On issues that Obama has previously enjoyed huge advantages, such as health care and education, his leads have decreased. On health care, Obama leads 46% to 41%, down from a 12 percentage-point lead just two weeks ago. On education, Obama leads 43% to 39%, down from a 10-point lead two weeks ago. On environmental issues, Obama’s advantage over McCain has gone from 14 percentage points down to eight this week.
The economy is the top issue for the majority of voters this election season. Voters have consistently trusted the Democratic Party more on this issue, but the two presidential candidates are tied at 45% as to who voters trust more. A week prior, Obama had a statistically insignificant one percentage point lead on the issue.
On national security, an issue that McCain consistently performs well on, the Republican leads 52% to 40%. His lead represents an improvement from the eight-point lead he held the week before.
A poll released this week finds that over half of voters support Obama’s proposal to provide working families with energy credits but aren’t sure about his idea of taxing big oil companies. When asked who voters trust more when it comes to energy issues, voters choose McCain by a 46% to 42% margin.
When it comes to government ethics and corruption, Obama has a 46% to 44% advantage. A separate survey finds that the Democratic Party is trusted more on this issue by a 40% to 29% margin.

those aren't the only factors which define an economy.
my bf and bro in law are both economists with masters and the shit that comes out of their mouths, some of which i mention and others do too but u ignore them or arent picking up on their leverage, goes beyond you asessments. the only one i will mention is how you are passive with the concept of defecit, and the damage is does.

james try this... name high ticket items we export- and then name some high ticket items we import.
name industries within the textiles scope we are exporting? the rate change in the past 50 years as well.
don't forget population adjustment, currency adjustment, etc.
then name the textiles we are importing, and the rate of change there too.
if you dont see it then you are making an ass of yourself by saying we are OK. we aren't.

Nissan just posted best sales ever for The altima and one other car.. the car manufactures that are NON-UNION are still going strong..
people everyday talk about the oil we import.. But NOBODY talks about the clothing and electronics that we import.. OIL is a drop in the bucket in comparison of the amount we import of electronics and clothing...
yep and toyota is surpassing the big three in worlwide auto sales while putting out total fuckin quality.. resale value on camry after 3 yrs is 65% of sticker...Vs. 50 % for american cars.. they got plenty of money for r and d ..and they are 3- 4000 dollars more expensive ..but why such loyalty?? quality.. they didnt let unions destroy them..
Joyce your talking 50 yrs ago?? that was the industrial age/ manufacturing era ..where a high school drop out go to a factory and he was set for life ..
We are now in the knowledge worker. information era .. blue collar no skills .. your not gonna live comfortably thats evolution ..
we lost manufacturing BUT under george bush 22 million private sector jobs were created .. you see when you invest overseas and pay dirt cheap labor that frees up other revenue for R & D, sales, marketing and advertising .. like bush said every job we send over there creates 3 here .. doesnt mean we should let the chinese get away with murder .. doesnt mean we should import all our food from south america either
doesnt mean bush should spend like a drunken sailor if he reduced govt cut spending the deficit be much lower .. Now Obama raising taxes, increasing spending, fliflopping on nafta, socializing medicine, expanding war in afghanistan, flipflopped on iraq, has no energy plan but to give the saudis money like we are now on top oif that he gonna tax oil, he gonna double capital gains and dividends killing investing.. ... thats a recipe for a fuckin depression ..

yeah great 22 mil jobs, now how many jobs were lost and replaces with lower paying no skills jobs?
btw I personally will take an American car over a japanese peice of junk anyday of the week... the problem they are so much more expensive than the jap cars.. which is why there should be an immediate 25% tarriff on japanese automobiles.
do you guys realize that we arent allowed to import one stinkin baseball glove to japan? and we are lettin them give us anything.. how stupid are we?!!!
