When I squat and try to go below parallel, my knees have this sharp pain. This has been for the past 2-3 leg workouts. Any ideas?

GLUCOSAMINE, can get at any super market or vitamin store. I used to have the same problem and took that for awhile till the pain went away. If it still bothers you even after taking it for a couple of weeks, see a doc. Could be tendinitis, ruptured ligament or torn cartilage.

I havent taken my glucocamine in about a week and a half cuz I ran out. Might have something to do with it.

go to a doctor... i hate messing wit any pain comin from the knees... ur gunna need 2 walk for the rest of ur life (knock on wood) and it can b one of the worse pains imaginable with arthritis and torn muscles n ligaments...
i hadda torn ACL, medial AND lateral meniscus' ... had major surgery... it sucked... i hate when its really damp out bc my knee kills :grumpy

i would get an mri just to be safe.

could be the onset of arthritis too,

could be bad form, as much as you think it may be good form you'd be suprised how everones body is slightly different and your good form could be my bad form.

check that out.

lower the weight, no need to agrivate it, i have had ITB for 4 months can't fully squat like i used to, it is what it is. I mean i can go pound my legs out and jhurt for 3 days or just back off on the weight a bit.

Lay off the leg workouts for a week and ice it.

I'm not a DR nor is anyone else on here (at least I think). You know your body better then anyone one else. If its that bad go to the Doctor. If not rest it, ice and relax your knee. Your joints may need a little break.

Before it gets any worse, definitely go see a doc. My friend has tendonitis in both knees now because he never checked it out. I know your show is in 3 days or so, I would tough it out 'till then and see the doc the next day.

Happens to me too. I just take an extra rest day or two from squats/lunges...or just do them without weights. try glucosamine like someone said, I actually just bought some today cuz i have clicking in both knees and a trainer at my gym told me that the clicking is the beginning of arthritis and I sure as hell dont want that!

Oh and watch your knees over your toes i dont care what olympians do... its not good to let your knees go past your toes during squats/lunges especially with weights!

I didn't know this! If i knew my joints were drying out, I would have gone to vitamin shoppe asap. It's not so bad anymore, but I know the weather affected it too. Must have been a combination of aggravators. i was walking on the treadmill last night & no problem. I'm doing cardio for the rest of the week, so hopefully no problem. BUt i am going to be living in 5 inch heels all weekend, & that's when it was bothering me too. I'm gonna stick it out. Not letting a little pain ruin my presentation
