Funny, I came over here to post a great piece in the Times today on the fall cookbook lineup!
I'm still poring over Alinea, but plan on visiting the bookstore this week to check some of these out. I saw A Day at El Bulli last time I was there but these others sound great too! Keller's is mentioned but I see it hasn't been published yet.

I should have the Alinea book tomorrow or Friday. Went to Borders, they had 3 copies, but all three had small damages to them, I am picky about my books being flawless, so dediced to order through Alinea.:agree

You?!??! I will go through a PILE of books and pick one close to the very bottom; I inspect the sides and inside the dust jacket, everything. Same with magazines. And if I see someone reading a book and breaking the spine it makes me want to go berserk! LOL I feel you!!
Mine was shrink-wrapped but even they sometimes have little dings on them...I had a copy on hold and I made sure it was the best one in the store before I bought it.
Can't wait to hear your thoughts and see your work! Cause you have the balls to actually TRY some of that stuff...LOL

I am def going to try as much as I can. Also depends what I can reasonably get my hands on, ingredient wise.
