a woman who has no desire to work, cook or clean....can :booted All stems from having a spoiled upbringing. I know this is a new day & age, but some values still need to be retained....one of which is this.

well, not everyone has a family to feed, and to some people cooking is more of a hobby. if you grew up w/ your fam cooking for you, then you had means to buy your food all the time & never really got into cooking for the "fun of it", I can see not knowing how to cook really.

some people are willing to pay for the convenience of not having to prepare their own meals. when they move in w/ someone, or have a fam, i guess they either split duties, pay for food, or learn :shrugger

i enjoy cooking, so it's not a problem, but I know people who just never learned and really don't care to lol

i think traditionally a woman cooking has gone out the window due to women having careers. I do know how to cook and i am still learning, but i cant say i will cook everynight either..

if a woman can afford to hire a chef, more fkin power to her. if she expects to sit on her ass while her husband pays for one, that's sad.

since most families involve two people working, who knows who gets home first, i'll go a step further and say both the man and woman should both know how to cook and feed their family.

both my parents can cook, both of them did, two is better than one lol

Depends on the type of woman. I cook 5 days a week, and I work full time, some times 10 hour days. I get in the door a little after 6, and I cook every night of the week.

I like to cook, I like to clean, but I'll be goddamned if I do it all myself. We both work hard outside the home, so it's a lazy man that would let me do everything, I don't like laziness. I cook, so he washes dishes. I clean the house, he picks up after himself. When I don't want to cook, he will most definitely try or we'll go out to eat.

I don't want kids so what the heck would I stay at home for? I could absolutely never be happy being married and being home not having a job.

Case in my point.....my roommate's girlfriend....she openly said she doesn't cook. I don't know what he is going to do when we leave, because I do most of the cooking around here for everyone. He cooks too, and does it well, but I highly doubt he'll be down with cooking every day. My boyfriend also cooks, but he only does it when there is something specific he gets a craving for, or when I´m sick and don't feel like cooking.

I love to cook though....I think I would feel like less of a woman if I didn't :shuffle

I think it's okay for the man to cook once in a while I guess....and definitely should man the grill at all times.

I grew up in a house where the men sit at the table and have everything served to them (or everything is out on the table and they serve themselves kinda thing). When they are finished, the women clean the table and do the dishes. To me, this is normal and that is how it will be when I get married.

My cousin doesn't cook much, but only because her husband is an amazing cook and loves to do it. But she does mostly everything else around the house.... so I guess it depends on the situation....

ShaE
10-23-2008, 01:10 PM
women are expected to do all this cooking,

yet by vast majority, most of the world's chefs are men.:hmmm
my dad cooked most of the time b/c he got home first and he likes it. he grew up in a family of 9 and was the one to help my grandmother cook every night. in that house, you all cleaned up, and that's how my house was growing up.

everybody has to do what's cool for them, but i appreciate the hell out of it when i cook something, we eat, and then i get to sit back & relax while he scrubs lol

JerZgirL
10-23-2008, 02:31 PM
Everyone should know how to cook. So you don't die of starvation. The reason some girls ( & i use this term purposely) think this way is b/c some men let them think that they can get whatever then want b/c they're overly tan with a fake rack that some guy she got on her knees for bought for her. News flash bitches: real women cook. The people who can't and are trying deserve gold stars. At least you tried. Plus restaurants get expensive.

Lack of domestic skills the no.1 turn off next to being ugly, but if you have a career just pull your weight and meet me 1/2 way in the kitchen and I'll be a happy negro, expecting a woman to slave away all the time while you since on the couch has been out since Archie Bunker died.

My mom did it all our lives..she didn't cook for 9, but she did cook for 4... . she worked full time and came home and had a full meal on the table every night. She used to joke that when we were bad we would have to eat Peanut butter and jelly and she wouldn't cook lol.. I give her a lot of credit
