Wall E - maybe the best animated film I've ever seen. The main characters hardly use any words, but the story and emssage the movie tells are able evoke alot of emotion. I thought it was pretty fucking brilliant. Adorable romance without being kiddy and stupid. - 4 cocoanutts
Stepbrothers - Watched it twice this weekend, and will watch more. FUckin hysterical. Ferrel's movies are often not funny the first time around (and sometimes not at all), but this had me rollin on the first run. "he better not step to me.....cause I will drop that motherfucker." "I'm gonna take a pillowcase, fill it up with bars of soap, and beat the shit out of you with it." - 3 & 1/2/ cocoanutts

this weather sucked, I watched like every independent film on demand there was:
Expired-this movie was downright painful, Jason Patric played such an asshole I wanted to call my mom and every girl I ever dated and apologize for ever being a prick. Skip this and go get your wisdom teeth pulled.
Felon-Best prison flick since Shawshank, if you like the OZ type of show you'll definitely love this.
Home Moive-short and downright fucking disturbing, jesus.....
Mongol-Great flick about Ghengis Khan, good historical epic.
Shelter Me-Best foreign flick I've seen this year besides Slumdog, semi-interesting story, lesbians and just goes all over the place...
War Inc.-I thought parts of this were real funny, the political satire was real well done, but I think I may have to rewatch it because I'm pretty sure there is some stuff I missed.
What Would Jesus Buy?-by the same guy that made SuperSize Me, this was really funny in a very demeaning way :)

300- Looved the move, what a great story and depicted beautifully. Love when I think the wife says something along the lines of To have Freedom blood wil be shed, something along those lines. :heart:heart:heart:heart
Employee of the Month- in the beginning it was pretty corny and then it picked up. Had some funny moments, when i was choking from laughter. Jessica Simpson looked hott. Love Jorge and that guy in the glasses. "I thought you were a Mexican not a Puerto Rican" lmaoooooooo

On Friday, I watched "Mandingo," a 1975 historical drama based on the novel by Kyle Onstott. Set in the pre civil war deep South, this film tells a story about Hammond, the young son of a plantation owner, who purchases a slave named "Meade" at a slave auction in hopes of training him to fight other slaves. From the outset of the film, Hammond is portrayed as someone with a seemingly natural affinity towards slaves: he's treats them with compassion and dignity, and seems to identify more with them than he does with his white counterparts. Hammond and Meade develop a pretty close relationship wherein the former becomes more of a caretaker for the latter than a slave master. Hammond also falls in love with the young daughter of a slave, and the two father a child together. Naturally, Hammond's father and wife aren't too pleased with Hammond's involvement with the slaves. Hammond seems unaffected by the will of his family, and his seemingly genuine compassion towards the slaves continues. But things suddenly take a turn for the worse when Hammond's troublesome wife decides to seduce Meade in hopes of making Hammond jealous.
In a nutshell, it's jungle fever on the prairie, lol.
Certain parts of the movie play out exploitively, but I've never really seen any type of slave narrative or melodrama committed to film that isn't exploitative in some way. The story is told very well. Great cinematography, great wardrobe design, and wonderful performances all around.
Former heavyweight boxer Ken Nortion plays Meade, the Mandingo slave. Also, Paul Benedict, the man who played "Mr. Bentley" on the Jeffersons, makes a small cameo as a wealthy slave owner.
Definitely a great flick to watch stoned. It'll fuck with your high nicely.
