View Full Version : Pain where the forearm meets the bicep?????
Over the past two weeks i have noticed i hope just a flare up of some kind right where my forearm ends and then just the real front part of my bicep begin?? it feels small. BUT only seems to bother me when i do pull ups and only that movement.. It seems to me because of the way your forearm is straight and locked and when you are fully extended away from the bar just as you begin to pull up wards OUCH!! I have stayed away for 2 weeks BUT it sucks i love pull ups. tried last night just to see how it feels and i felt the twinge.
Anyone else ever feel this. it almost feels like tennis elbow im assuming but on the opposite side...

Might be far fetched by sounds like Rhabdomyolysis which is muscle breakdown. It usually happens when the extension part of a movement (bottom of the pullup) is exaggerated causing tissue damage. Rhabdo is very dangerous and could cause major issues with your kidneys. I know may sound crazy "DANGEROUS?! Its just slight pain" but thats very common.
Just something to look into. That forearm/bicep pain is VERY common.

Haha its very common issue. Sometimes people confuse DOMS with Rhabdo. I didnt mean to jump to that conclusion, but I've heard many many many stories of the same pain and it ends up being Rhabdo, especially on pullups

Well, im just gonna stop doing pull ups for a minute and see what happens. cause it doesnt bother me when doing pull downs or any other exercise.. doesnt even bother me when working my biceps either.. Honestly i prob tweaked it and cause ive been still working it, my guess would be just not leting totally heal.. also getting old you start to feel different aches DAMMIT:wallbang...

where in the arm, in the crease inside or the outer side of it?
you may have snapping tricep syndrome. check it out do a google it is when the fascia around the nerve in your arm gets damaage and the nerve actually runs thru your elbow and it sort of protrudes at 45 degree extension.
I have a similar problem with my right arm at first i thought it was just tenis elbow but its not really going away.

ahh inside part ok my pain is the outside part. almost at the top of the forearm.
alls i know is this year at 34 i have had the MOST dings and stratches than ever before. stretching is mucho importante as you age i guess. which i try to do alot more often but still not enough.

i here ya about the age. im 29 and dont consider myself "old" but def feel the difference in healing and getting rest!!
I have been dealing with the same pain for like 4 years.
I had a cortisone shot a couple of years back and it zapped the pain until recently when it came back.
I seem to aggravate it with lat pull downs (or pullups in your case), or rows.
I just work through and curse alot lol.
I may have to see about another shot.

extend your arm and pull your fingers downward with the other hand so your bad hand's fingers are perp. to the floor (like the 2nd pic) if that kills, could be something like tennis elbow

thats the stretch you do to avoid it but if that area is injured it could be the root of the prob.
