Lexolution- they placed me at my current temp to perm position. The only thing I'm unhappy with is that when I applied for the position, they reassured me that it would turn permanent sooner than later. I'm here 5 months and I'm still temp to perm, so hopefully something comes out of this soon.

How quickly did they place you? Ive called a few places and they have all told me that they are so overwhelmed, that they werent sure if they would have anything available for me. Temp is fine for me for the time being. I am in the medical field but before I came into that, I was in administration and have 10 years experience there. I was laid off in September, so Im resorting to my "back up" skills for income right now because I am having a terrible time finding a position in my field and what ever savings I did have before I was let go is dwindling. :disappoin

well i was referred to them when they were looking to place someone in the position i'm currently in so about a week.
apply to jobs on craigslist, monster.com, indeed.com, etc. I can absolutely promise you that you'll be contacted & if they have anything, you'll be placed.

Ive applied to SO many jobs on Craigslist, Indeed, Simply Hired, etc...all the job sites I can think of, Ive cold dropped my resume, Ive been doing everything I can possibly think of and nothing. Its so discouraging. :disappoin
But I will contact the 2 places you suggested. Thanks for your help. :)

It doesnt matter to me what field. Im looking for a temporary general administrative position for now until I can find a position in my normal career field.
My mother mentioned Robert Half, which Ive never heard of. She lives in Connecticut and I wasnt aware they were a nation wide company.

i have actually interviewed with Robert Half about 4 years ago and they make you take math and accounting tests no matter what field you are looking into.

I was hired "temp to perm"... which means that you temp for a certain period of time and then usually an invite is extended for an employee to become perm. Temp is straight temp, for a certain period of time and then once that time is up, you're on the search for another position.
I've already been told that they're working on making me permanent but they can't do anything until the 2010 budget is approved.
