does a 10oz bottle of %100 cranberry juice and a zone bar (14grams protein) suffice??
followed by a real dinner a couple hours later..

last night after my workout I had a sausage egg & cheese on a bagel, a cappacuino and chocolate chip muffin from dd.

Not the route I would take...
Go buy some whey protein powder from your local health food store and a shaker bottle. Put a serving in the bottle before you go to the gym. You can even throw some glutamine in as well. Use the water fountain at the gym to mix it with and youare set. Proceed with your regular meal afterwards.

The only other thing i would do would be to throw some dextrose in that shake as well. You need to restore glycogen levels after a workout.

And you need more protein than that.

sounds good for the car ride home from the gym! (add some glutamine too)
but i would eat a real serving of protein within a half hour of that, not a few hours later, as thats not too much muscle fuel right there - remember that first hour/ hour and half post workout is the most important for packing some protein in the body
