no not waxes although their great ;)
anyone ever had any authentic brazilian food?
just read a good article on the histroy of brazial food
had a couple recipes so I'll post a couple under this thread..
Pao – De Quijo (Tapioca-Flour Cheese Fuff bread)
2 pounds 4 ounces polvilho anedo (tapioca flour)
5 eggs
3 cups grated, low-salt feta cheese
1 tablespoon slat
½ pound butter, cubed and softened
1 cup cold milk
shortening to grease the baking sheet
For the puff bread, combine the polvilho anedo, eggs, cheese and salt in an electric mixer with a dough hook attachment and mix to a smooth consitency. Add the butter and continue mixing to fully incorporate. Slowly drizzle in the milk and mix until the dough is smooth and elastic. Roll into one ounce balls and evenly space them five inches apart on a greased baking sheet. Bake in a 350 degree oven until the balls have puffed up and are golden brown on the bottom (approximately 30 to 40 minutes)
For the Apples:
2 tablespoons butter
3 Golden Delicious apples, peeled, cored and sliced into 8 pieces
For the Mangoes:
2 tablespoons butter
½ cup of sugar
2 mangoes, peeled, pitted and diced
Juice of ½ lime
To assemble:
8 ounces puff pastry dough, rolled out ¼ inch thick
Confectioners’ sugar
For the garnish:
Heavy cream
For the Apples:
Heat the butter in a saucepan, add the apples and gently sauté until golden brown. Remove the apples form the pan and set aside.
For the mangoes:
Heat the butter in sauté pan, add the sugar and dissolves, then add the mangoes and lime juice and cook until combined. Remove from the heat.
To assemble:
Cut four six-inch circles out fo the puff pastry dough and line the bottom of six shallow ring molds. Shingle the apple slices in a circle over the puff pastry and fill the molds with the mango puree, packing it downfirmly. Bake in 375 degree oven for 15 minutes. Remove from the oven and sprinkle the top with confectioners’ sugar. Broil until golden brown.
To serve:
Remove tarts from the ring molds. Place one tart on the plate and encircle it with heavy cream.
For the Shrimp:
2 pounds shrimp, cleaned
Juice of 1 lime
2 tablespoons parsley, chopped
2 green onions, white part only, chopped
1 garlic clove, peeled and chopped
1 teaspoon coriander
Pinch of cayenne pepper
¼ teaspoon salt
For chayotes”
2 chaayotes, peeled and cubed
1 tablespoon butter
For the coconut milk sauce:
¼ cup vegetable oil
1 onion, peeled and diced
3 medium tomatoes, skinned, seeded and chopped
2 tablespoons tomato paste
1 cup coconut milk
For the platter:
1 pound cooked white rice
Fresh cilantro
For the shrimp:
Combine all the ingredients and marinate one hour.
For the chayotes:
Steam the cubed squash until tender, then toss in the butter. Set aside and keep warm.
For the coconut milk sauce:
Heat the vegetable oil in a sautoir. Sauté the onion until translucent. Add the shrimp and the marinade and cook over low heat until the liquid begins to simmer. Add the coconut milk and bring to a boil. Add the cooked chayotes, heat and serve immediately.
To serve:
Make a ring of the cooked rice around the outer edge of the platter. Ladle in shrimp and sauce in the center of the rice and garnish with cilantro.

mostly they eat grilled meats. skirt steak, flank steak, sausage, rabbit, lamb.
evrey goto greenfields or master grille ?
mmmm turkey wrapped in bacon ... all bbqed meat, perfect place for atkins !! tons of grilled meats ! all u can eat
ive heard of master grille its in queens right?
