I know that doing cardio first thing in the morning is the best time but If that can't be done then when?

Right now I do 15-20 minutes of cardio before I hit the weights. Its good for warming up but is this the best way to burn fat? Would it be better if I did 5 minutes of cardio as a warmup, hit the iron then finish off with 20 minutes of cardio?

I mainly want to lose fat with the cardio. What do u guys think?

I believe that you are supposed to do your cardio after lifting if you are doing them both in the same session. If you do your cardio first, you are taxed when you go to do your lifting (which you want to be your strongest for).

Yes, I think it's better to do 5 minutes to warmup and then do the rest (20 minutes at least) after your workout.

u got to do what works for you, try shit out, i like doing cardio before hand for some reason, plus to burn fat you need to do cardio for a longer duration then 20 min and keep your heart rate at like 65% of your max....

I do it afterwords because your body uses it's top energy sources for the weights and by the time you get to cardio at the end, your body has used up the sugars and is dipping into your fat stores for energy.

i do 30-45 minutes when I'm done, except when I do legs, I do 10 minutes before and 20-30 after so they dont lock up on me.

i'd just be careful with overdoing it.. after a session of weights u might wanna take a lil rest and get some form of fuel in your body, otherwise u might start to tap into muscle reserves for energy.

i'd say anything more than 20 mins of cardio directly after weights is gonna hurt more than help
