View Full Version : Food in the gym...
I understand that the gym staff needs to eat, but for god's sake, I don't need to smell your chicken parm or your pizza whileI'm trying to lift.
The gym is full of people that are trying to get in shape and hold up some will power to shed that excess fat. It's not setting a good example to sit at the front desk..RIGHT IN FRONT OF THE CARDIO AREA...and stuff your face. Go into the office for christ's sake!
i dont know if its just my gym, but this staff is always eating crap in the gym. They also happen to be the most out of shape gym staff i've ever seen.

hahaha... I actually use to eat all time at the front desk at my gym. Usually because I was waiting for a client and didnt want to be in the back and miss if they came in early or something. Not to mention, the room that they gave us to eat was this tiny little thing that smelled like ass due to all the gym bags and food that was in there earlier.
And wouldnt you need the same will power not to eat the same stuff when you pass by a store that sold that kind of food in the first place?

There is a huge difference between driving past a pizza place and trying to do squats with the smell of Shrimp Marinara floating up my nose.
same thing used to happen at my gym.. id be takinga class.. an the instructors would be in teh office eating pizza..not for nothing but if i worked at a gym.. i would never let the clients see me eat pizza!

i dont wanna smell food when im lifting. it's a distraction that could potentially become a safety hazard..lol..or at least make my lifting experience less pleasant....it's as bad as smelling somebody who has B-O, in my opinion

On a related note, this past X-mas my gym decided to hold a "Holiday Buffet" during which they served trays of wings, chicken fingers, burgers, fries, subs etc. I didn't so much mind the smell of the food while I was lifting or the fact that people were eating but I definitely thought it reflected piss poorly on the gym staff when they're walking around shoveling mounds of fattening, greasy food into their mouths in plain view of their clients whom they're supposed to be setting some kind of example for. I found it more comical than anything else really. Not to mention you had schmucks carrying around plates of wings and chicken fingers from machine to machine, eating in between sets. What a shit show that day was.
It didn't happen to be a Bally's gym, was it?
I used to train at Bally's and they started having these "Open Houses" and "Happy Hour's". They would bring in a dj, which was kinda cool, but they would set up a table of finger foods...all of which were fried and greasy! It was such a poor idea. No synergy whatsover with the kind of message the gym claims to be extending. It was just a ploy to get all the already fat prospective members to come in and check the gym out.

nah, its a Gold's in NJ. Pretty disgraceful for a big name gym but funny nonetheless seeing a bunch of assclowns eating garbage and lifting simultaneously, wondering why they look the way they do.:ROTFL

If you go to the upstairs Cardio area in Gold's Gym in Astoria and look out the window you can see people stuff their face in the Pizza Uno across the street.

Seriously they should tax fast food heavily and charge $5 to supersize anything. People are turning into giant pigs its disgusting.
I honestly think that eating a #2 supersize meal does more damage than drinking a beer while puffing on a cigarette.
