Something with a lil more kick and still hot couple internation and national hot drinks with alcohol besides your standar coffee with liquer.
This is one from New England
Serves 1
1 generous tablespoon brown sugar
1 cinamon stick
1 piece lemon peel
6 whole cloves
Boiling water
2 to 3 ounces dark rum
1 teaspoon butter
For garnish:
Grated Nutmeg
To a large mug that has been rinse with boiling water, add brown sugar, cinnamon stick and a lemon peel that has been studded with cloves. Pour in a little boiling water and stir until the suagr is dissolved. Add rum and fill with boiling water. Stir thenplace a tablespoon of butter on top of drink. To garnish sprinkle with nutmeg
This is from Scandinavia
Serves 8-10
3 sticks cinnamon
20 whole cloves
1 cup water
1 cup raisons
2/3 cup sliver almonds
1/4 cup sugar
1 half gallon bottle red wine
1 750 ml bottle port wine
1 cup light rum
1 cup aquavit
For garnish:
Orange slices
In a small saucepan, place the cinnamon sticks, cloves amd water. Cover. Bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer 30 minutes. Discared Spices. In a 4-qt pan combine spiced water with remaining ingredients, except orange slices. Heat over medium-low heat, but don't boil.
To serve:
Pour in a punch bowl and garnish with orange slices
An English Drink
Serves 25
1 cup brown sugar
2 tsp grated nutmeg
2 tsp ground ginger
2 cinnamon sticks broken
1/2 tsp ground mace
6 whole cloves
6 allspice berries
Water
3 750ml bottles of sherry or port
2 cups apple juice
4 cups ale
For garnish:
4 baked apples, cored but not skinned
Place sugar and spices in a saucepan and place over medium heat, addinga cup or two of water. Bring to a boil and stir until all the sugar is dissolved. Add sherry or port, apple juice and ale. Heat but do not boil.
To serve:
Strain and pour into cups. Garnish with a small portion of baked apple in each cup.
A German drink
Serves 4
1 750ml bottle red wine
1/2 cup sugar
Whole cloves
1 cinnamon stick
Peels form half a lemon
Place wine and sugar in a casserole chafing dish. Stick cloves into lemon peels and place in wine. Heat until wine steams and sugar has dissolved, but do not allo to boil. Serve hot in punch cups or mugs.
Name says it all
Serves 1
2 1/2 ounces Irish Whisky
2 tsp sugar
3 to 4 whole cloves
1 slice lemon
Boiling water
Place whisky and sugar into a mug. Stick cloves into lemon slice and add to the whisky. Fill the mug with boiling water to the top. Stir to dissolve sugar.

believed to be a cure for hangovers ;)
Serves 1
2 to 3 ounces bourbon, gin, rum, brandy, or vodka
1 cup milk
1 whole egg (optional)
1 tsp sugar syrup or totaste
For garnish:
Pinch powdered nutmeg, cinnamon or allspice
Heat the Heat liquer, milk, egg (if desired) and sugar syrup in a small saucepan over low heat, stirring to make sure milk doesn't sorch and egg doesn't curdle. When hot pour into a mug that has been rinsed with boiling water.
To garnish, sprinkle top of the punch with nutmeg, cinnamon, or allspice.
