wow how ironic is that, i just started doing legs again yesterday after skipping them for like the last whole year!
and i purposely tried to not overdo it knowing full well it takes a few weeks back to be able to do a real leg workout and not hobble like a cripple for 3 days afterwards - so i did a nice workout but nothing crazy, yes im sore but only a slight limp not too bad
and yes the sore pain is a real goood pain when its from a leg workout - i kinda missed having it actually
I designated sunday as leg day at the gym from now on (unless i go clubbing, ill do my leg workout on the dancefloor instead)
love hobbling around the office every tues and fri. ppl here don't understand why them come to my desk and i'm stretching

just started doing legs again too after about a one year hiatus. I did them ridiculously light the first day out knowing I'd cripple myself for a good three days if I did otherwise. You definitely have to ease back into it.
sled, hack squats, weighted side lunges, extensions, calves
needless to say i'll be in a wheelchair tomorrow and wednesday

im always at the point where im going to throw up after legs:
squats 6 sets (8-4 reps)
leg presses 5 sets (10-1 reps)
extensions 3 sets (8-4 reps)
leg curls 4 sets (8-4 reps)
stiff legged deadlifts 4 sets (8-4 reps)
occasionally i skip the stiff legged deads cuz i do traditional deadlifts with my back workout.
im still a lightweight, but i think i easily went up about 60 lbs in the squat (also probly about 10 lbs in lean mass) within the last year.
it amzes me ....I work out so hard and I move like my grandma..
it is better today ...I am back at the running so hopefully everything will loosen up some more..
evolution - throwing up after legs is key....first time I ever did them i puked in the gym bathroom....funnist shit ever...I was freaked otu but my boy told me it was normal

My workout is similar:
Squats - 4/5 sets
Sled - 4 sets
Stiff Legged deads - 4 sets
Extensions - 4
Calves - 4 sets + 1 killer drop set
Ill trhow in some hamstring curls at the end to burn them out.
The best thing to do to avoid the soreness is to do some light cardio for the next two days. Helps loosen up the muscles and break up the lactic acid.

yeah i find that the more active I am in the days after I am less sore...taking that day off kille dme ..
deadlifts - I am scared to do these cause I fear i will hurt my lower back ...any tips or pointers.....you keep your legs str8 and focus on the hamstring right ?
but that beding at the hips puts too much stress on my lower back

Inregards to being sore/stiff, your legs will be the worst 2 days after. The day after is nothing compared to how stiff and sore they will be tomorrow (if you did them yesterday) !!!
haha....

I keep my legs a little less than shoulder width and I try to lock myself in where I really feel the pull in my hams. Its very easy to use your lower back too much with this exercise, so you really need to concentrate on pulling with the hams.
I stay real strict with my form and stay around 245 for 6 on my last set. I dont want to go to heavy and cheat or hurt myself. I always use my weight belt with this one. I feel it really helps keep my lower back in place.
since I was turned on to this exercise (thanks Smokey) I have really seen my hams grow. I see alot of people in my gym doiing them now as well.
I have heard from one or two people that they are bad on the knees because you are locked up. Again, this is why im careful with my weights.

Ginz, why do you lock your knees out? Just like in Leg presses I go until I'm almost locked and then back down.
JP, keep your back *straight* and feet just about shoulder width apart. I see a few people look up when they are lifting, which is a definite no-no. It's very easy to strain neck muscles when asserting so much force in your neck. Keep your back and neck straight and look forward. Don't lock out your knees once you've lifted completely. At the very top, squeeze the top of your back. Remind me next time I see you and I'll show you good form.

I should have been clearer with my description...
I lock my form in place holding that tension in my hams, not my knees. Kness have just a slight break to ease the pressure.
I keep my back straight and my eyes focused up.

Your eyes up or your entire head facing up?
I'd even be weary to look up, fearing, that without meaning to do it, I might end up having my entire face upwards.
Reason why I'm so fearful of looking up is the first time I did dead lifts 4 yrs ago, I had my entire head facing upwards and I strained my neck and couldn't move it much for almost 2 weeks!

Eyes up head and neck in line with spine.

any your concern is ?????????
deez and ginz..I am going to try them ....
i'll let you guys know how they work out ....
reason I am worried is that I threw my back out doing long bar shrugs and it tends to act up if I put any pressure on it ..
but it's worth a shot

Start out with LITE weight! Just to get a feel for proper form, throw 25 or 35s on each side. Use a weight belt and wraps (straps)...
Remember, keep your back straight, eyes and head straight ahead, feet just about shoulder width apart, don't lock your knees out at full lift, and get a good squeeze out of your upper back at the top of the lift..
A good indication that you have proper form is that you'll rub right above your knee caps with the bar on each lift.

any your concern is ????????? What does winny have to do with not doing legs? My point is that you should be an experienced all around bodybuilder before you touch any kind of gear. Im not saying you dont know what your doing but people who dont do legs and juice are the worst kind IMO. Those are the people who are doing it for all the wrong reasons.

fuck the form and using lightweights, do 10 minutes on the treadmill before legs, and 20-30 minutes on eliptical when your done and the next day you won't even know you did your legs the day before.

For all those wondering, this statement is definitely not true.
Winny is terrible on the liver, joints, hair line, etc.... There are a lot more negative sides associated with winstrol that I have not listed...
Keeping gains relies primarily on the user, not the gear being used. Granted there is some weight that you'll loose post test usage, BUT, I've seen just as many people loose their hardness and definition achieved by winstrol as I've seen test users shrink down to or below their originial size pre-test usage.

To say something like to someone who has never done dead lifts before, this is just an incredibly ignorant piece of advice! Especially coming from someone who seems pretty damn intelligent like yourself.
The treadmill and eliptical machine does nothing to prevent or relieve the pain of strained or torn muscles / ligaments that can be had by in proper form on dead lifts (or any type of lifting for that matter).

I take this type of shit pretty damn seriously. I'm NOT trying to get into a pissing match with you Jon Paul, but to pass of the sides associated from Winny as minor incomparison to test is just stupid.. Winstrol affects the body in different ways than test does, therefore the sides to some people can be just as bad if not worse than test!
There are a lot of ignorant and lazy people on this board who will take what the next guy says as pure fact.

but it is different strokes for diff folks ....you feel strongly about test and such and I strongly dislike it only due to pass experiences...
but as in side effects...they all have side effects...but if done in moderation and done correclty wiht correct dosage and correct supplements..sideeffects should be minimal...
but the effects of gyno and bloating are 2 that strongly discourage me from using test or similar oil based juices...

I don't really have much of a preference oh either gear rather, my goals are just different from yours.
They all have sides and not one single side effect of either compound (oil or water based) is 100% avoidable despite how hard you (we) try (moderation, supps, etc..).
It's a pissing match of what's worse between sides associated with test and winny.. It's entirely up to the user and how 'bad' they precieve them to be vs. the gains.
