I made this last week and it turned out great. You can also use this method for things like Zucchini, mushrooms or whatever.

Now the method is kind of odd because usually its flour, egg wash, and then bread crumbs, but this way is a little different.

Set up three bowls, one with fresh bread crumbs and some garlic salt, italian seasoning and salt and pepper. The next bowl put 3/4 flour and 1/4 cornstarch and the last bowl mix eggs and a little bit of water.

Cut up the block of mozzarella into the size you want the sticks or whatever to be. Dip them in the egg wash then the bread crumbs and last the flour/cornstarch mixture. Fry them in Olive oil or Veg Oil until brown and cooked through.

Get some marinara sauce to dip them in and you are set. Its real easy and comes out great.

i tried these once recently..and i didnt care for them..maybe it was the way they made them..but the batter was a sort of egg/tempuraish batter and it was mushy outside..it seems like the crust retained a lot of oil..yuck..they werenot crunchy like mozzarella sticks...which i :heart

my places makes mozz sticks that way, they dont buy frozen.

it would be interesting to try it was fresh mozz.

u can do this with brie also, its a lil more difficult cuz the cheese is softer. u can do it and serve it as an app like a dipping sauce for apple slices. H2B u can have that one ;)

I was wondering the same thing about Fresh Mozz.

As for the Brie, if you refrigerate or freeze it it mght be easier to work with. Never tried though. How would this dip thing work if you are frying the Brie as Cheese sticks?????????:suspicion I like to Bake Brie and eat it with a fruit puree and some toasted baquette.;)
