i used to really hate long island when i first moved here. but since i've moved to Long beach last year.. i'm really starting to like it! :)

I think if you go to the right places the north and south shore both have gorgeous areas. I don't think North Shore is nicer though...

It's not so bad in Nassau, but once you get more into Suffolk you notice the difference. IE: Shirley, Mastic, Brentwood, Bayshore
Drive down Montauk Hwy in Suffolk County, and you'll see what I'm talking about (Not counting Hamptons of course)

by the way Matt, seriously..Nassau be the richest or one of the richest in the country? :floor I know it has some cute neighborhoods, a few pricvey ones scattered here and there like Manhasset, Brookville & Stewart Manor but on a WHOLE the county is NO WHERE NEAR being the richest or even ONE OF THE richest... have you ever been to other states like Connecticut, California, Arizona, Wyoming etc?
