Just buy a membership to a 24hr gym and save yourself alot of money and alot of head aches (bringing the stuff into your house, setting it up, worrying about going heavy cause you dont have a spot, or wanting to do an excersise you cant do with what you bought).
I can never see putting a home gym in my house unless I had a shit load of money and was able to buy all the hammer strength machines I wanted, leg equipment, a cage, cabel machine, a few adjustable benches, and enough dumbells to take care of what I wanted to do.

400 is my gym membership. Every home gym is limited. If your trying to maintain some shape I guess it would work though.

any serious bodybuilder will tell you that a home gym is not an option, its a necessity. walk into any commercial gym, pick out the most hardcore lookin person in there (and i dont mean some sauced out prettyboy) and ask them if they have a gym in their house.. the answer will be "yes". home gyms are hardcore. and dont confuse that pussy bowflex shit for a home gym. im talkin power rack, olympic bench, free weights, tread, heavybag etc.
dont waste your time or money on some bullshit package combo bench/pulleysystem/legattachment/joeweider garbage. spend the money and get the real deal holyfield. you will see results and you will have this equipment for life. worse case scenario: you become a fat lazy bastard and you sell the shit for half of what you paid.
sounds like you are ready to step it up a notch and a home gym is definately the way to go. i dont know where you live but where i live there is an old school hard core place where you can get quality gym equipment. i dont know your cashflow situation but if your looking to get a deal check out the classifieds. theres always some guy whos havin kids, or whose wife needs room for her dresses, or he's just too fat too work out and needs the money and room in the house, whatever. youll wind up getting some good shit cheap... good luck
