Love this place, my second fave restaurant. Food is amazing, family style.. (which im personally not a fan of b/c i hate to share food!) But its soo good.. the spicy ahi tuna :spitfall.. drinks are fab too, imo the ambiance makes the restaurant.. service is absolutely fabulous as well.

Hmm well we went as a group and i know a great deal of the $ we spent was on drinks also.. so considering all that id say at least 100 pp if not more. Then again it is family style so comparing the 9 or whatever people i went to as opposed to u goin w/a date would also be different.. ummm :shuffle Yea to be on the safe side id say 100 pp. Ohh i hafta PM u abt the tixx :rubhands

I went there several times when it was HAUTE and the *place to be* back in the day ..and everything ELSE was pretty BUTT. Yes, nice ambiance ...scene etc, BUT I go to a restaurant for FOOD.
Honestly .it is one of Jeffrey Chodorow's big disappointments in my book. I think some people get too caught up in the *trendy* aspect of the place . .and seem to let other things slide....which is a NO NO in my book. Plus, like I said . .it HAD it's hey-day ..so, it's not like it's *the place to be* anymore.

overrated & way overpriced IMO, definitely have had much better else where for alot cheaper, place does like nice though if that's your thing.

Went there sunday night, guy hooked me up with a parking spot right in front of the place. Excellent service, Excellent atmosphere, somewhat over priced and the food was good not great. We had the skewed shrimp and calamri salad for appetizers, honey roast pork with lobster mash potatos for main dish.

you know what I felt that way the first time I went there. I'm still not really impressed with any of their entrees, but the tuna pica appetizer & the coconut invasion desert are 2 of the best thing's I've ever eaten. As a matter of fact that's probably my favorite dessert ever.

lol yeah I was thinking the same thing.
Babydee and I went for lunch 2 weeks ago, we got the calamari salad, 10 veggie fried rice and dumplings and left 50% of the rice and 50% of the salad because we were absolutely stuffed. We only ordered 3 appetizers and ate about 60% of them. The waiter even warned us before we ordered lol.

I haven;t said this b4 ..(because some people would take it the wrong way)....Asia de Cuba is NOT some *new hotspot*. I was going to Asia de Cuba when it first opened...which was like 8-9 YEARS ago. I used to go when it WAS hard to get a table.
Honestly, do you remember your menu from 8-9 YEARS ago ? lol I pointed out one thing I LIKED..because that's what made an impression on me.
Is it POSSIBLE for the place to get better ? Of course, anything is possible. However,HOW many places have YOU been to that you had BAD or not-so-good experiences at that YOU returned to ? ? Isn't that the point of having a bad experience ? To NOT return and keep being a glutton for punishment ? lol I went..several times ...each time was just as unsatisfactory. Yeah.it was hot ..everyone who was anyone was going there ...it waas a *scene* ..but EXACTLY ..a *scene* a good restaurant does not make. I THINK I pointed that out earlier. Did I not ? :cylon
Not only that .but what to SOME people may be a GREAT or GOOD experience ..to OTHERS ma be horrific and appalling. Nobody ..not even me . .is an established or professional food critic here. I take everyone's OPINIONS as input and that's it. I don't live my life according to what I read on NCC...and don't expect anyone to do that with what I say either.
However, I LIKE to THINK I have somewhat of a clue and SOME people do so as well ..which is why SOME DO take my advice or recommendations. I can only hope to be right and hope they have the same positive experiences I have had.

I agree, its a restaurant, you go there to eat, not because it's the current hotspot, tho im sure some peole do go to restaurants for that. As long as the food is still good, I'll keep going back, I dont care if the restaurant is 20 years old.

I agree, its a restaurant, you go there to eat, not because it's the current hotspot, tho im sure some peole do go to restaurants for that. As long as the food is still good, I'll keep going back, I dont care if the restaurant is 20 years old.

It was a fixed menu because we were a large party, and food just kept coming... calamari salad was my favorite thing, some sort of glazed chicken was good too.. but I was not a fan of their beef, ox tail, or the tuna appetizer, and nothing else really stood out to me.. the desert was a mix of different things, but everything had coconut on it which overpowers every other flavor, so it really defeated the purpose of an assortment. The Sangria was horrible!!! I tried the red and white. So I basically dined on glazed chicken, calamari salad and sparkling water. I just think the cuban and asian cuisines can't be really enjoyed at once.. I think this place's menu is completely a novelty.
