This is also a VERY easy dish to make and is one of my fave dishes EVER! :spitfall
1 onion (shredded)
Oil (enough to cover the frying pan and then some)
1 1/2 lbs of chopped meat
Splash of Red Wine
3/4 jar tomato sauce
salt & pepper to taste
3 sprigs of parsley leaves finely chopped
1 tablespoon of chopped garlic
Cinnamon to taste.
Sautee the onions in the oil to give flavor. Put in the chopped meat and make sure to break it up so that it's very fine and not chunky. Cook until brown. Add a splash of red wine. Next, start adding in tomato sauce (about 3/4 of a jar) and let it simmer.
Add salt & pepper to taste and parsley and garlic as well. Stir. At the end, add about a 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon and stir. Simmer for about 5 more minutes and VOILA, you have mama's meat sauce.
The cinnamon just gives it that extra OOMPH--soo good! :spitfall
Serve over your favorite pasta and top off with some grated parmesan OR grated Kefalograveria (greek cheese).
ENJOY!!
