on 2nd ave bet 51st and 52nd has the best cupcakes!

i've walked by the place a thousand times and never thought of stopping in.
last night for some reason i decided to go in "just to look"

got a couple of cupcakes and couldn't believe how good they were.
they were soooo rich and sweet!

def give it a try if you're in that neck of the woods.

i wish now that i never went in, cause i know there's no way i can pass it w/o stopping in.

they also make cakes and muffins.

note: the cupcakes are not cheap - 1.75 a pop, but its worth it once in a while to treat yourself.

Thats one of the original owners of Magnolia Bakery
The partners had a fallout - split up - and one of them opened this place.

I didnt like the cupcake I had, they actually use lard isntead of butter :-( - but I have heard their cakes are much better. And supposedly the red velvet is the best ever.

Now for v-day, I bought a red velvet cake (after reading many reviews) from Magnolia and cupcakes, wasn't impressed at all with the cake but thought the cupcakes were great. :shrugger
