i started my diet 2 weeks ago only eating about 50-100 carbs no carbs after 7pm no late night eating after 9pm protien shake with water before bed...not goin crazy on the cardio yet only doin bout 12min a day on the eliptical....been loosin at a nice slow pace just the way i like it once may hits im gonna up the cardio to 30-45min a day 5days a week cant wait this is the summer i will see my abs yeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa:silly

Ive been on the Athkens diet for about a week and a half, its not so hard either... I try to put no more then 30 grams of carbs in me and I eat shit load of chicken and steak...
As for running, I run about 4 times around ForestHillsHighSchool and that takes around 25-30 min, I hate running though...

i gotta go nuts the next 7 weeks i have two tournies
im cutting sugar down and complex carbs as much as possible
all i gotta lose is like 4-5lbs so its not that bad
besides that just training like normal
gym 2 times a week (3 if im lucky)
im all about havin shredded front delts and lower abs this summer :)

the atkins diet sucks
eveyone loses weight quick but its not fat its water
the body holds 2 grams of water for every gram of carbs
so when u cut carbs u piss that water out but u didnt burn any fat or really tone up
the best diet IMO is a 40-40-30 with healthy carbs and unstaurated fats

Im pretty used to the athkens diet, and its not that hard either....

40-30-30 is 40% of ur diet carbs, 30% protein and 30% fat
that might sound like alot of carbs and fat but as long as you keep the carbs simple and the fat unsaturated (fats not from animals) you will lose weight (assuming you workout) and youll keep it off
unlike the atkins diet where the sense of losing weight isnt real bcause all your doing is pissng out water
your body and your muscles are 65% water, without proper amounuts off water your body fatigues and if your working out that effects your workout.... your muslces will get tired faster and you wont have the ability to properly workout and push yourself to failure
now whats important about that is MUSCLES BURN FAT the more muscles u have the more fat youll burn (even in your sleep) so if the body cant build that muscle, due to lack of carbs and water effecting your workouts, that extra fat doenst get burned
is this making sense?
your body needs the water and carbs that the atkins diets drains you of!
its a good diet to lose quick weight but its not gonna stay off
besides the fact that the true atkins diet preaches very high saturated fat intake which is terrible for the heart and arteries

a simple carb is a unit made up of 1-3 units or carbohydrates and is easy to break down
a complex carb is made up of 100's of units carbohydrates and takes much longer for the body to break down
simple carbs are fruits, milk. yogurt, rice etc
complex carbs are pasta, breads, cereals (basicaly any carb that is manufactured and not "natural")

atkins diet is good if ur looking to lose little weight fast like about 5 - 10lbs but its not great for long term because then ur body gets used to always eating the same thing and instead of losing u hit that plataue...plus it makes u look pale my friend did it her complexion droped
my dieting a training was going really well till easter happend.. oh god.. i ate so much.. i still don't feel right!
