Pride - no expectations, but I ended up loving this movie. Very inspiring story about Jim Ellis, a black guy who took an inner city rec center that was about to be closed down, cleaned up the pool and ended up turning a bunch of knucklehads with no direction into swim meet champions. I didn't even know black people could swim. Movie was so moving I watched two days ina row so my girl could see it. Some very sad parts. Everybody cries...the kids, Terrence Howard, Bernie Mac, me, my girl. It got a little ridiculous, actually. Despite all the waterorks, fell-good flick. - 2 & 1/2 cocoanutts
Happy Feet - also mad sad at parts, but I love the tap dancing penguin. The little mexican ones, too. - 2 & 1/2 cocoanutts
The Assassination of Jesse James - Started off slow as fuck, but I got into it more and more as the movie went on. Never knoew the story of jesse James, so this was all new to me. Brad Pitt isn't great, but he's better than he has been in some of his recent shitfests. Casey Afflect gives a performance that also gets better as the mocie goes on. - 2 & 1/2 cocoanutts
