Has anyone been yet? Does it live up to the hype? Quality? I am a big Nobu fan so I have very high expectations. Is it as good?

Yes, it was superb! I would say they got it ALL right at that place.
Decor, service, food, atmosphere all of it rolled up into one place. Dmitry and I thought it was excellent. Quality was top notch - they fly fish in every day to serve their patrons. Nobu is a little different - they have their entire menu revolving around sushi. Megu is a little more diverse, they have many more options, but yet it all ties back to the sushi experience. I would like to go back and do the tasting menu. Their cooked plates: Marinated Kobe beef practically melts on its skewers, soy-buttered scallops collapse with sweet brine and Chawanmushi custard, its like...divine.

Thanks E. This was very helpful. I have reservations in July and wanted to make sure that it was a great experience.

I liked Nobu better. Don't eat the kobe beef (tastes wayyyy too gamey).

I hate the Kobe beef burger at old homestead in the borgota and thought the same thing, but the thing was like 2 lbs or something, so i took like half it home, threw it in the fridge, and I eat it the next day and I swear to got it was the greatest thing I ever tasted.

if you like gamey food, try aquavit...the free range chicken was actually pretty good (although gamey tasting, it was tolerable for me hah!)

Its nice for a large party...the atmosphere is superb, you'd love it. I would prefer a party of (at most) 4 though...I liked the fact that it was just me and Dmitry - BUT we had it planned so that it would be 8 of us (only 2 actually went lololol)
Big menu - and you dont even have to like sushi they have plenty of other treats.
I found it to be expensive...you are looking at minimum $100 per person, possibly without drinks depending on your appetite...thats appetizers, main and side.

..and the drinks? off the hook - they have a bar you can hang at till your table is ready...its pumping up there.

If you dont go with this group, you should definitely take Darrel and go there - it was a great experience...I cant see how anyone could say this place isnt excellent... we found the service, atmosphere, food, and drinks to be TOP notch. It isnt JUST about the food, its about the ccmplete package - this place has that.
i see you aiming at my pedastal
